It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the official homepage of Camberwell South Primary School; a place where dreams are made and extraordinary things happen.
Camberwell South Primary School is in the daily pursuit of excellence. When I walk through our vibrant classrooms, there is a genuine sense of learning, fun and curiosity, as students engage in personalised tasks designed to challenge their thinking.
It is not uncommon for our prep and Year 1 and 2 students to read to a partner and provide purposeful feedback on oral language acquisition. I enjoy seeing our Year 3 and 4 students elect to design, create and construct industrial bedside lamps through their Entrepreneurial Education Program. It is inspirational to hear our Year 5 and 6 students prepare and present their public speaking with passion, research and distinct quality to a whole school audience of over 500.
There is something magical about seeing the pride in teachers, as they collaborate to study student work, analysing their impact on learning and celebrating our scientists, engineers, artists and sports heroes. Our teachers are supported to explore new practices and push themselves and our students beyond their comfort zones and as they do, I see our hopes and promises for the future living in the here and now.
The school community of Camberwell South is strong, connected and works as one for the benefit of our students. School Council, lead by the very capable Pernille Cavanough, is united in its approach to continual school improvement. Jane De Crespigny heads our Parents and Friends Association with distinction, encompassing the spirit of a community working together. There are countless opportunities to be actively engaged in our school and all support is greatly appreciated.
At Camberwell South Primary School, we aim to be leaders in education by providing an exceptional academic and personal learning experience.
I extend an open invitation for you to visit at your convenience to experience first hand the positive impact we have on the future of tomorrow. Appointments can be made with our Administration Team, Jennie Reeve or Jess Massingham on 9889 4295 or email the school here
